Hi all,

Very much enjoyed this year's conference for the wide range of ideas and topics discussed. My interest in the setting comes from a mental health perspective and I'm always interested in taking this idea further. That's why I'm currently doing a research project called Why We Warhammer that's published through my website 40kpulp.com.

The aim is that I'm interviewing academics, writers, influencers and fans in the Warhammer setting about what the fandom means to you from a mental health point of view, what inspires your connection to the setting etc. A good starting point is people who are part of the forum.

As an example, here was the first one conducted with Mike Ryder.

If you're interested in taking part, do leave a comment in this thread with your best contact email or let me know someone you think would be worth contacting to take part. If you'd rather not share your email here, comment that you are interested and I'll contact you through private message in the forum.

Hi Jamie - I’m interested in the real-world sociology of Warhammer communities, and my academic faculty have a big focus on mental health, sport and masculinities, so I am interested in how Warhammer in particular can not only provide and parallel this, but how it might offer alternatives to “sporting” models of positive mental health support. Happy to chat any time.

Hey Gavin. That's great and sounds well aligned to what I'm working on. Checking if this is the best email to reach you as I saw it in the contact information thread.
